Controversies: Politics and Philosophy in Our Time is a compelling dialogue between philosophers Alain Badiou and Jean-Claude Milner, moderated by Philippe Petit. The book captures a series of conversations held between January and June 2012, where Badiou and Milner, once comrades in the 1960s Maoist movement, confront their divergent philosophical and political trajectories. Their discussions delve into topics such as the Paris Commune, the Chinese Cultural Revolution, the concept of the infinite, the universal, the significance of the term "Jew," violence, capitalism, the left, and the future of Europe.
