Handmade Persian Tablecloth – Isfahan Round Block-Print

Açıklama

This round tablecloth embodies the centuries-old tradition of Kalamkari, the art of block-printing in Isfahan. Artisans carve intricate motifs into wooden blocks, dip them into natural dyes, and press them rhythmically onto cotton fabric. The process is slow and meditative, each layer of color and form building a dialogue between hand, cloth, and heritage. Kalamkari is not only a decorative craft but also a reflection of Iranian cultural identity. Its patterns often draw from geometry, floral designs, and symbolic motifs, echoing themes of harmony and continuity. The circular shape of the tablecloth itself reinforces ideas of unity and wholeness, making it a meaningful object beyond its practical use. Historically, such textiles adorned homes, mosques, and caravanserais, serving both functional and spiritual purposes. Today, each handmade piece continues that legacy, resisting industrial uniformity and preserving the human touch that defines Persian craftsmanship.
