Heidegger: His Life and His Philosophy (2016) by Alain Badiou and Barbara Cassin offers a concise yet profound examination of Martin Heidegger's complex legacy. The authors delve into the paradox of Heidegger being both a seminal thinker in Continental philosophy and a member of the Nazi Party. Through an analysis of Heidegger's personal correspondence, especially with his wife Elfride, and his relationships with figures like Hannah Arendt, Badiou and Cassin explore the interplay between his philosophical ideas and personal life. They challenge readers to consider whether Heidegger's political affiliations should influence the interpretation of his philosophical work.
