Iran: The Spirit of a Spiritless World by Michel Foucault is a collection of writings and interviews reflecting on the Iranian Revolution of 1978–1979 and its philosophical, political, and social significance. Drawing on his firsthand observations of the revolutionary movement, Foucault explores themes of political spirituality, religious belief, power, resistance, and the possibility of social transformation beyond conventional Western political frameworks. Through critical reflections and conversations about the events unfolding in Iran, the book offers a distinctive perspective on the relationship between religion, revolution, and modern political thought, making it valuable for readers interested in philosophy, political theory, contemporary Iranian history, and the intellectual debates surrounding the Islamic Revolution.
