Leopoldstadt Play by Tom Stoppard (Farsi)

Açıklama

Leopoldstadt is a historical and family drama by Tom Stoppard, first performed in 2020, offering one of his most personal and expansive works. Set in Vienna from 1899 to 1955, the play follows the Merz and Jacoby families, educated Jewish households gradually assimilated into Viennese culture. Initially thriving in a world balancing Jewish heritage with European intellectual life, the families face increasing pressures from rising nationalism, anti-Semitism, and political upheaval. Through five carefully chosen time periods, Stoppard portrays how historical forces subtly reshape daily life, relationships, language, and hopes, creating a vivid, multilayered depiction of identity, cultural change, and the fragility of human continuity across generations.
