Ondine play by Jean Giraudoux (Farsi)

Açıklama

“Ondine” is a play by Jean Giraudoux, based on the 1811 romantic novel Undine by the German writer Friedrich de la Motte Fouqué. The story follows Hans, a misguided knight sent on an adventure by his betrothed, who encounters Ondine, a water spirit, in the forest and falls in love with her. At first glance, the tale appears to follow familiar fairy-tale patterns, with a wandering knight pursuing the love of a princess. However, as the play unfolds, Giraudoux offers a fresh approach to these motifs, using the story to explore complex themes such as love, betrayal, loyalty, and destiny. This adaptation transforms a classic fairy tale into a reflective and emotionally rich dramatic work that challenges the audience’s expectations.
