Açıklama

"Persia in Crisis: Safavid Decline and the Fall of Isfahan" by Rudi Matthee explores the decline of the Safavid Empire, a significant period in Persian history that led to the eventual fall of Isfahan in 1722. The book provides a detailed examination of the political, economic, and social factors contributing to the empire's weakening and ultimate collapse. Matthee analyzes the internal struggles, including the weakening of central authority, economic mismanagement, and military setbacks, as well as external pressures from neighboring powers like the Ottoman Empire and the Uzbeks. The Safavid dynasty, which had once been a strong and prosperous empire under rulers like Shah Abbas I, faced increasing difficulties in maintaining control over its territories and dealing with internal dissent.
