Softcops Play by Caryl Churchill (Farsi)

Açıklama

Softcops by Caryl Churchill, written in 1978 and inspired by Michel Foucault’s Discipline and Punish, dramatizes Foucault’s ideas on power and social control. Set in post-revolutionary France of the early 19th century, the play explores the rise of bourgeois authority and new disciplinary strategies, showing how power shapes behavior and thought. Churchill draws parallels between historical authoritarian systems and contemporary England, illustrating how surveillance and control render citizens compliant and suppress social dissent. Through sharp dialogue and theatrical innovation, Softcops interrogates the pervasive mechanisms of societal discipline and the subtle ways authority dominates everyday life.
