Açıklama

Sugar Street, the third and final volume of Naguib Mahfouz's Cairo Trilogy, concludes the epic tale of the Abd al-Jawad family. Set in the early 20th century, it follows the continuing struggles of the family as they face the repercussions of their individual choices amidst political, social, and cultural upheaval in Egypt. The narrative is largely centered on the next generation of the family, particularly the grandsons of Ahmad and Amina, as they confront their own desires, ideologies, and the tumultuous world around them. The novel delves into the complexities of life in Cairo, where issues of class, tradition, and modernity collide. As the characters struggle with personal and political aspirations, Mahfouz explores themes of resistance, rebellion, and the fight for independence, both on a personal level and within the broader national context.
