The Bundle Play by Edward Bond (Farsi)

Açıklama

The Bundle, or The Narrow Road to the Deep North Again by British playwright Edward Bond, first performed in 1978 by the Royal Shakespeare Company at the Warehouse Theatre in London, is a striking example of Bond’s symbolic and thought-provoking style. Set in an imagined medieval Japan, the play continues Bond’s exploration of social and political themes, particularly the consequences of revolution and the moral complexities of human action, revisiting motifs from his earlier work, The Narrow Road to the Deep North. The story follows Wang, a young man abandoned as an infant and raised by a poor ferryman and his wife, who grows to lead a peasant revolt against a tyrannical landowner. The play examines the intricate interplay of personal responsibility, the sacrifices required for social change, and the tension between idealism and the harsh realities of revolutionary action.
