The Fishermen Novel by Chigozie Obioma (Farsi)

Açıklama

Set in a Nigerian town in the mid-1990s, The Fishermen by Chigozie Obioma tells the story of four brothers whose close-knit family is shattered by a violent mystical prophecy. Narrated by nine-year-old Benjamin, the youngest brother, the novel unfolds as a haunting coming-of-age tale reminiscent of the biblical story of Cain and Abel. When their strict father leaves home for work in a distant city, the brothers seize their freedom to skip school and fish in a forbidden, ominous river. There, they encounter a dangerous local madman who foretells that the eldest brother will be killed by one of his siblings. This single prophecy ignites fear, suspicion, and psychological unraveling, transforming brotherly love into paranoia and driving the family toward irreversible tragedy.
