"Rooh-e Tashri' Dar Eslam" (The Spirit of Legislation in Islam) by Imam Musa al-Sadr is based on a paper he presented at the seventh "Moltaqa al-Fikr al-Islami" conference in Algeria, along with the critiques and responses from scholars present at the session. The Moltaqa al-Fikr al-Islami conference, initiated in 1968, aims to discuss religious, philosophical, cultural, and civilizational issues in connection with contemporary questions and challenges facing the Islamic community. Imam Musa al-Sadr participated in the 1973 conference, where the theme and his essay focused on the essence of Islamic law and the reality of legislation in the Islamic world. In his essay, Imam al-Sadr addresses two fundamental issues central to the philosophy of Islamic jurisprudence.
