Ethics of the Real: Kant and Lacan by Alenka Zupančič is a profound exploration of the intersection between Immanuel Kant's moral philosophy and Jacques Lacan's psychoanalytic theory. Zupančič challenges conventional readings of Kant by juxtaposing his concept of the moral law with Lacan's notion of the Real, a realm beyond symbolization that disrupts the symbolic order. Through this lens, she proposes an "ethics of the Real," emphasizing the disruptive and non-normative aspects of ethical experience that resist assimilation into established moral frameworks.
