The Pelican Play by August Strindberg (Farsi)

Açıklama

“The Pelican” by August Strindberg is one of the world’s most renowned plays, portraying the intense conflicts and tensions within a family that ultimately lead to tragedy. The story follows a family recently bereaved by the father’s death. The father figure, symbolized by the pelican, descends into despair due to his wife’s dissatisfaction and a secret affair with the son-in-law. The mother feigns motherhood, withholding care and food from her children, treating her daughter as a tool to fulfill her own desires. The son, freshly graduated in law, struggles with serious personal issues and turns to alcohol, while the son-in-law pursues unscrupulous plans to claim the family inheritance. This play offers a piercing exploration of familial dysfunction, greed, and human frailty.”
