Danube Play by María Irene Fornés (Farsi) Pocket-sized

Açıklama

"Danube" by María Irene Fornés is a hauntingly lyrical play that explores themes of love, war, and disintegration. Set against the backdrop of 1930s Europe on the brink of World War II, the play follows the story of Paul, an American businessman, and Eve, a Hungarian woman, who fall in love amidst the rising political tensions. Their romance is portrayed in a series of episodic, dreamlike scenes that reflect the fragmented and surreal nature of the world around them. As the external world becomes increasingly chaotic and violent, the couple's relationship begins to unravel, mirroring the societal collapse. Fornés uses minimalist staging and evocative dialogue to create a poignant and disorienting atmosphere, highlighting the fragility of human connections in times of turmoil.
