Açıklama

"The Sailor Who Fell from Grace with the Sea" by Yukio Mishima is a dark and intense novel that explores themes of alienation, disillusionment, and the clash between youth and adulthood. The story centers on a 13-year-old boy, Noboru, who is part of a gang of rebellious youths that rejects societal norms. His mother remarries a sailor named Ryuji, a man Noboru initially admires for his adventurous life at sea. However, when Ryuji decides to settle down and live a more conventional life with Noboru’s mother, the boy’s perception of him shatters. Noboru, feeling betrayed by Ryuji’s departure from his idealized image, becomes consumed by a cold, nihilistic worldview, leading to a tragic and violent climax. Mishima’s novel is a haunting exploration of the destructive power of idealism, the disillusionment of growing up, and the consequences of rejecting societal and moral codes.
