Top Girls Book by Caryl Churchill (Farsi)

Açıklama

Top Girls by Caryl Churchill is a groundbreaking modern play that examines the role of women in society, the sacrifices they make for success, and the conflicts between personal ambition and social responsibility. First performed in 1982, it tells the story of Marlene, a career-driven woman who has just been promoted at an employment agency, and contrasts her achievements with the struggles of other women across history. The play opens with a famous dinner party scene where Marlene dines with remarkable women from different eras, blending fantasy and reality to highlight the challenges of gender, class, and power. Churchill’s sharp, innovative dialogue and non-linear structure make the play both intellectually stimulating and emotionally powerful. Recognized as a feminist classic, it continues to be performed worldwide and studied in literature and theatre programs.
