Anna in the Tropics Play by Nilo Cruz (Farsi)

Açıklama

Anna in the Tropics by Nilo Cruz is a Pulitzer Prize-winning play set in a 1929 Cuban-American cigar factory in Tampa, Florida. The workers hand-roll cigars while a lector reads to them, bridging tradition and imagination. When the new lector, Juan Julian, selects Tolstoy’s Anna Karenina, the story sparks passion, desire, and conflict among the workers and their families. As life begins to mirror the themes of the novel, hidden emotions surface, leading to moments of profound connection and heartbreak. Through poetic language and rich symbolism, the play explores love, change, and the tensions between tradition and progress in a time of cultural transition.
