Timon of Athens Play by William Shakespeare (Farsi)

Açıklama

Timon of Athens is a tragedy by William Shakespeare, likely written around 1605–1610. The play follows Timon, a wealthy Athenian whose generosity to friends leads to financial ruin. When he seeks help in his time of need, those he once aided abandon him, prompting his disillusionment with humanity. Timon withdraws from society and becomes bitter, condemning human greed and ingratitude. Unlike Shakespeare’s more celebrated tragedies, this work emphasizes social and moral critique over conventional dramatic resolution. Scholars note its thematic connection to King Lear, though it received less artistic attention from Shakespeare during composition. The play remains significant for its exploration of wealth, friendship, and the fragility of human relationships.
