Based on the Duchess Malphi Play by Mohammad Rezaei Rad & Naghmeh Samini

Açıklama

Based on The Duchess of Malfi by Mohammad Rezaei Rad and Naghmeh Samini is a tragic stage play built on multiple interwoven stories and mirrored situations that are sometimes balanced and sometimes inverted. The characters carry secrets that often remain unspoken, and the play deliberately avoids clear answers—most notably in its refusal to state whether Ferdinand truly loves the Duchess. Instead, the Duchess and Ferdinand function as inverse reflections of one another: both are driven by love, yet in fundamentally opposing ways. Bosola and the Cardinal form another mirrored pair, standing on opposite ends of the axis of power—the dominant and the subordinate. In this reinterpretation, the final confrontation unfolds along this very axis, exposing the mechanisms of authority, desire, and destruction. The play offers a layered and unsettling re-reading of classical tragedy through contemporary dramaturgy.
