Betrayal Play by Harold Pinter (Farsi)

Açıklama

Betrayal by Harold Pinter is a structurally innovative drama that traces an extramarital affair in reverse chronology. The play opens in 1977 with Emma and Jerry meeting two years after their relationship has ended, then moves backward through nine scenes to reveal the origins and evolution of their secret liaison. As the narrative retreats in time, layers of deception, self-delusion, and emotional ambiguity emerge—not only between the lovers but also involving Emma’s husband, Robert, who is Jerry’s close friend. Through spare dialogue and charged silences, Pinter examines betrayal in its multiple forms—marital, personal, and social—while exposing the fragility of memory and the uneasy coexistence of love and duplicity.
