Life of Galileo Play by Bertolt Brecht (Farsi)

Açıklama

Life of Galileo by Bertolt Brecht explores the intersection of science, authority, and ethics through the life of Galileo Galilei. Set in Renaissance Italy, the play portrays Galileo's groundbreaking discoveries, including his support of the Copernican theory that the Earth orbits the Sun. Despite his scientific brilliance, Galileo faces opposition from the Church, which sees his findings as a threat to its authority. Under pressure, he recants his theories but secretly continues his research. The narrative highlights the conflict between intellectual freedom and institutional power, questioning the moral responsibility of scientists in the face of societal pressures. Brecht uses Galileo’s struggles to reflect on broader themes of truth, courage, and the cost of progress.
